How to store 7-OH

Tablets keep best sealed, cool and dry — and stored where kids and pets can't reach them. Here's the checklist.

Keep it away from kids and pets — first

7-OH is potent. A tablet that's a single serving for an adult can be dangerous for a child or a pet. Store it up high, out of sight, ideally in a locked box or cabinet, and never in a candy dish or an unmarked bag — flavored chewables can look like candy. If a child or pet swallows any, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or emergency services right away.

Leave it in the original packaging

  • Blister packs and sealed pouches protect tablets from air and moisture. Pop out a tablet only when you're about to use it.
  • Keep bottles tightly closed with the desiccant packet inside, if there is one.
  • The original pack also keeps the label, warnings and batch number together — you need the batch number to match a lab COA.

Cool, dry and dark

  • Room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
  • Not in a bathroom, where steam and humidity can soften chewable tablets.
  • Not in a hot car — heat can melt or degrade chewables.
  • No need to refrigerate; moisture from a fridge can do more harm than good.

Split tablets

If you break a scored tablet, keep the unused part in a small sealed container, labeled with the product name and strength, and stored with the rest of the pack. Use it soon — a broken tablet has more surface exposed to air.

Expiration and disposal

  • Check the date on the pack and don't use tablets past it, or any that have changed color, smell or texture.
  • To throw tablets away, follow the FDA's guidance for medicines: mix them with something unappealing, like used coffee grounds or cat litter, seal it in a bag and put it in the trash. Don't flush them.

Traveling

7-OH is restricted in a growing number of states and cities, and the rules where you're going may differ from home. Check before you travel — see where we can't ship for the states we know restrict it.

This guide is general information, not medical or legal advice. 7-OH is not approved by the FDA for any use, and laws change often — check the current rules where you live.
