7-OH glossary

The words on 7-OH labels and lab reports, defined in one line each.

7-OH (7-hydroxymitragynine)
An alkaloid linked to the kratom tree. Kratom leaf has only trace amounts; 7-OH products contain a measured, concentrated amount. What is 7-OH? →
Alkaloid
A naturally occurring compound found in plants. Kratom leaf contains dozens; mitragynine is the most abundant.
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa)
A tree in the coffee family native to Southeast Asia. Its leaves are sold as powder, capsules and teas. 7-OH vs kratom →
Mitragynine
Kratom's main alkaloid. The body converts some of it into 7-OH, and 7-OH products are generally made from it.
COA (certificate of analysis)
A lab's report of what's in one batch of a product: potency and contaminant results. How to read a COA →
Batch (lot) number
The code that identifies one production run. It should be printed on your pack and match the COA.
Third-party lab
An independent testing lab with no stake in the product — not the brand testing itself.
ISO/IEC 17025
The international accreditation standard for testing laboratories. Look for it on a COA.
Potency
How much of an active compound a product contains — for 7-OH, usually in mg per tablet or as a percentage.
Heavy metals panel
Lab tests for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury.
Residual solvents
Chemicals left over from extraction. A COA should show them below safe limits.
Microbials
Lab tests for mold, yeast and bacteria such as E. coli and salmonella.
mg per tablet
The amount of 7-OH in one tablet — the headline strength on a pack. Strengths explained →
Total mg
All the 7-OH in a pack: number of tablets × mg per tablet.
Serving
The amount the label defines as one use. It can be smaller than a whole tablet.
Price per mg
Pack price divided by total mg — the fair way to compare value across products.
Scored tablet
A tablet pressed with a line (or a cross, if quarter-scored) so it breaks into equal parts.
Chewable tablet
A tablet made to be chewed, usually flavored.
Blister pack
Packaging that seals each tablet in its own plastic bubble with a foil back.
Restricted state
A state that bans or regulates 7-OH. We don't ship to them. Where we can't ship →
21+
7-OH is sold only to adults 21 and over. Buyers confirm their age at checkout.
